8x3 - Make a pinhole camera

Set: Wednesday 21st March
Due: Monday 26th March

Make a pinhole camera – see page 131 in Exploring Science.

You will need: a box, tracing paper, sellotape.

You can make a pinhole camera by taking a box and making a small pin hole in the centre of one side. Then, on the opposite, cut a square and cover with tracing paper or thin tissue - see the diagram in Exploring Science to see what you should be making.

By pointing the camera at a bright object, you should be able to see the image on the tissue/tracing paper. It may be easier to see if you put a coat over your head when looking at the camera.

Here's a page telling you how to make a pinhole camera out of a Pringles can.
